What Could Have Been

I had no idea how much I missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs and was looking forward to the eighth-seeded Edmonton Oilers' Cinderella story continuing. Of course, this is hockey in America we're talking about, and finding a place with the Outdoor Life Network on television (the night of a Cubs game—where Carlos Zambrano was flirting with a no-hitter, no less) was exceedingly difficult.

With the Oilers up three goals, I figured they still had a legitimite shot at winning the whole thing, but then Edmonton lost their goalie (who had been playing like a rock star in these playoffs), Dwayne Roloson—not just for the game, but the entire series:

"Well, that was a kick in the nuts."

NBC gets coverage of Games Three through Seven, but I'm not counting on this series lasting much past a fifth game. Then again, everybody's been writing off the Oilers since the playoffs started.
